About This Project

My final self- portrait project is a weblog composed of reflective posts about my past travel and experience in Portugal and Spain for World Youth Day 2011 that took place in Madrid. I have chosen to write about three significant places that I went to during my trip and they include Fatima (Portugal), Salamanca, and Madrid (Spain). I specifically chose to write about these three places because the experiences I had in these places really reflected my personal values, experiences, thoughts, and epiphany that I had during the trip.  This project is also presented in a form of a weblog to create a more casual feeling to the project as well as being able to visually share photos. I hope to be able to share my personal values and beliefs and show the unique side of my personality through this project.

This past August, I was amongst the 2 million youths that traveled to Madrid, Spain for World Youth Day 2011. Many young people may not have heard of "World Youth day". Basically, it is a major event in which Catholic or non- Catholic youths gather together in a designated city (appointed by the Pope) to celebrate their faith, beliefs, or interest in the Catholic religion. It is a time where youths meet other young people from around the world and get a chance to meet the Pope. This significant event happens every 3 years (World Youth Day website).
