About Me

My name is Peggy Yip, I am a second year university student in Open Studies this year. I hope to study nursing in the future to help others of my community through caring and support.

I am a very devoted catholic where religion has always been in my life. The past summer, I was very fortunate to be able to participate in a world wide event known as World Youth Day, where millions and millions of catholic or non- catholic youths from all over the world gather in one designated city to share their catholic faith or to learn more about the Catholic religion.

I grew up in a Chinese family where catholic religion was deeply valued. As my mother would always say that: "Everything happens according to God's Plan". As I grew older, I have found that my catholic faith has really influenced and shaped who I am today. For instance, the things I value in life, such as, family, peace, and respect all revolve around my faith for the Lord Jesus Christ.

I personally love to travel, through traveling I am able to learn and explore about other cultures of the world. I value cultural diversity and have always had a desire to be able to meet new people and increase my social network. Through communication with others I am able to learn through their views about me of what kind a person I am in their eyes.

Through the trip to Madrid this year, I got to experience one of the most amazing adventures of my life. Through this past trip, I was able to experience the cultural differences between the Canadian culture and the Spanish culture. And best of all, I was able to meet a lot of new friends from around the world.
